About the Authors

This is the first book the husband and wife team of Cynthia and Greg Leitich Smith have authored together. Cynthia says, "We had great fun discussing the story over hot cocoa while listening to Christmas carols."

The Leitich Smiths are both established authors.

Cynthia is the author of the YA novel TANTALIZE, in addition to the chapter book INDIAN SHOES, middle grade novel RAIN IS NOT MY INDIAN NAME, and picturebook JINGLE DANCER.

Greg is the author of two middle grade novels, NINJAS, PIRANHAS AND GALILEO and TOFU AND T.REX.

About the Illustrator

Steve Björkman has been drawing ever since he can remember — at home, in church, during class, and in most of his spare time. Over the past twenty-five years, Mr. Björkman has illustrated over seventy children's books, hundreds of greeting cards, thousands of advertising and editiorial illustrations, and art on a variety of products from paper goods to picture frames.

Steve Björkman lives in Irvine, California, with his wife, three kids, a dog, a cat, and a giant tortoise.
